Staycation at Desert Ridge Marriott

We had a fun in town vacation with friends at the end of August. We stayed at the Desert Ridge Marriott and it was beautiful! The kids had a blast swimming and Parker and Aaron were even chosen to participate in a Sponge Bob contest. We really didn't want to leave when check-out time came. We'll have to plan another staycation soon!

AZ Science Center

We were able to get a culture pass for the AZ Science Center and got to see the fun Lego exibit before it was gone. The boys loved it and had a great time. They would have liked to stay longer if they had the chance. Next time we'll go earlier in the day.

Dallin's Birthday: Take 2

Dallin also got to celebrate his birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Pratt's house. He got his first set of Kinex, that he really enjoys. He also got some money from Gigi Pratt. He was in heaven!

Lego Bonding

After Dallin's birthday party there were plenty of Lego's to go around. We had a fun time building some of them together as a family. Parker made sure that Sophie was even included in the building.

Dallin had fun playing with his bulldozer. It actually rolled along on little belts around the wheels. It lasted for several days before the pieces started falling off because he was playing with it so much.

Parker and McKay played it up for the camera. They love to strike a pose!

We love Lego mini-figures! This one is from the community set. He's a mover with a hand truck.

This is the speed racer set. It took a whole night to put together. The boys raced the cars around the table when we were finished. All three cars are still intact amazingly.

Dallin's Birthday: Take 1

Dallin turned 6 in August. He said he wanted a dinosaur cake, but settled for a robot since we covered it with candy. I think he liked it!

He got these cool tiger pajamas and has worn them almost every night since his party. They really are soft and comfy.

There were plenty of legos too!

This set is a big bulldozer. They put it together and played with it for a few days before it started falling apart. Now it's all in the lego bucket.

Dallin loves lego mini-figures and this set was perfect! It comes with about 30 mini-figures, all community workers. It even came with some bikes, a hand truck, and a stretcher.

Dallin got to share his party with his uncle Karl. There were lots of presents to open!

Finally he got to blow out the candles and make a wish. Then he got to dig into the robot cake, it was chocolate of course!

1st Day of School

As the boys get older, the first day of school seems to be a little less exciting. They know what they're getting themselves into and they're not as quick to get out of bed and get ready. Luckily, we made it on time, just as the bell was ringing to line up.

Dallin has Mrs. Ekstrom for Kindergarten. This is his first year going all day and eating lunch at school. He has done great and hasn't complained about getting tired at all. He knows some kids in his class from church and his pre-k class. He also goes to Ms. Falby twice a week for speech.

Parker is in Mr. Akers 2nd grade class. He was so excited when he found out over the summer because Mr. Akers keeps a snake in his classroom. Mr. Akers also has family parties at his house and has family nights in the classroom once a month. What a fun teacher!

The boys walk home together after school. For the first couple weeks they were walking home holding hands. It was cute, but didn't last very long. Now I have to remind them to stay close together. Parker likes to lag behind and talk to his friends on the way home.

I'm glad I got this picture, but I don't think Parker was.

Family Party

Alli and Dan invited us over for a family party while the Olinger's were in town for Parker's baptism. We had a fun time eating and swimming. It was hard to get the boys out of the pool.

Dallin and McKay were have a great time playing with Grandpa.

Uncle Craig had fun throwing McKay into the air.

We love having fun with our family and we're so glad when we can all get together.

Swimming with Miss Shelley

The boys all took swimming lessons this summer with Miss Shelley. Dallin and McKay took two sessions and Parker took one. We had a lot of friends tell us that she was an awesome swim teacher and they weren't lyin'! Why did I waste my money at the City of Mesa last summer?!! All of the boys were swimming on their own at the end of lessons. I was so proud of them and grateful to Shelley for her great teaching ability. We're hoping they can take lessons with her again next summer.

Parker's Baptism

Parker was baptized on Saturday, August 8th, 2009. He was baptized and confirmed by Aaron with many of our family and friends in attendance. The baptism was held at our stake center and three other kids were baptized the same day. We provided the pianist and Grandma Stewart gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost and Nana and Aunt Lisa gave the prayers. Afterwards we met at Grandma and Grandpa Stewart's house for dinner.

We are so happy that he decided to be baptized and that he can now have the gift of the Holy Ghost. What a wonderful day for him!
