At the Park

April 15, 2010

Sophie is now all over the playground, no longer content to sit with mom and eat snacks while the other kids play. She was so proud of herself everytime she made it to the top of the stairs.

McKay is the dress-up king. He loves mixing and matching different costumes to come up with new super heroes. Today he went for the complete pirate though.

Kite Flying

April 12, 2010

Parker loves flying kites. He's pretty much had to figure out how to do it on his own though. I'm not a kite flyer and I don't offer much help. This day there really wasn't that much wind and he could only get the kite in the air while he was running up and down the street. I totally admired his perseverance, he knew he was going to get that kite going eventually.

He kept trying until he ran into a little snag. It took him a little while to get back in the air.

There he goes!

The Princess and the Pea

April 10, 2010

The boys and I attended the Princess and the Pea play at Hale Theatre in downtown Gilbert. They watched pretty well until the candy ran out and then Dallin whined the rest of the time that he wanted to leave. I thought the play was great. The couple times I've been there I've been impressed. Maybe next time we go I'll have to make sure it's a boy themed play. My boys were pretty much the only ones in the audience and they definitely didn't want to stick around to have their picture taken with the princesses!

Family Egg Hunt

April 3, 2010

We got together at Aunt Susie's house the day before Easter for an egg hunt. The kids had a great time running around the backyard, playing on the swingset, and in the bounce house that was set up. We also brought our lunches and had a picnic on the patio.

McKay and Kimble

Koltyn looks so innocent in this picture.

But we caught him red handed stealing Sophie's lunch!

Heather, Kristi, and Mom

The guys hid all the eggs for the kids (there were hundreds of them) and got creative with their hiding spots. Some of the eggs were placed high in the palm trees and the kids still figured out how to get them down. I think they were probably motivated by the candy hiding inside.

Sophie and Grandma

We had such a fun time and hope we can make this a tradition!

Phoenix Children's Museum

April 2, 2010

After we left the Natural History Museum we went and picked Aaron up at the airport and headed to the Phoenix Children's Museum. It's one of the museums that is free on the first Friday of the month. We hadn't been to it before and we really liked it. I would take the kids back more often if it wasn't so far away and so expensive. They had lots of different rooms with different themes and the kids seemed to enjoy them all.

Natural History Museum Again

April 2, 2010

We got a lot of use out of our museum membership this spring. This visit the boys had fun putting puzzles together in the Native American Room. They worked hard to get this mammoth puzzle back together.

Dallin used some money from Christmas to buy this dragon from the gift shop. He loves his stuffed animals.

Pinewood Derby

March 27, 2010

This was Parker's first year to participate in the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. He wasn't the fastest, but he wasn't the slowest either. He had a fun time making his car with Grandpa Stewart since Dad was in California.

I was in charge of refreshments and came up with Teddy Grahams riding on Swiss Rolls and mini Vanilla Wafers for the wheels. They turned out super cute and yummy!
