Fiesta Bowl Parade

January 2, 2010

Aaron and Parker were balloon handlers in the Fiesta Bowl Parade this year. Westcor has a balloon in the parade and Aaron's boss really wanted his team to volunteer to take it along the route. Kristi and I braved the crowds (we seriously did not know how crowded it was going to be) and went to watch the parade and cheer on our boys.

We made sure to bring plenty snacks because we knew they were in the middle of the parade and we didn't know how long it was going to last.

Here are some of the parts the boys enjoyed:
The Snake

Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters

Here comes the Westcor balloon!

Parker was actually handing out candy because he wasn't old enough to help with the balloon. You can see Aaron behind him and to the right. They were asked to wear black long sleeve shirts and a black beanie. It was a warm day and they were sweatin'! The crowds also kept cheering "Turn it! Turn it!" when the big balloons passed by and they got a workout keeping the ballon going.

I used to be in this band! Go Toros!

We had a fun time, but by the end we were ready to get out of there!

Dallin Lost a Tooth!

January 1, 2010

Dallin started the year off with a bang by losing his first tooth! He was super excited to put his tooth under his pillow and see if the tooth fairy would visit him. He had been waiting for this tooth to come out for a while, he's pretty cautious and wouldn't even wiggle it. Luckily, the tooth fair came and left a dollar for him!

Christmas Day at the Pratt's House

Dallin loves playing with the Kinex at Grandma and Grandpa Pratt's house.

The boys headed outside for a game of Ultimate Frisbee.

FHE at the Evan's

December 21, 2009

Each month my dad's family gets together for a Family Home Evening. In December we got together at the Evan's house for the reading of Luke 2 and a cookie exchange. The kids were great sports about wearing the nativity costumes that I "threw" together earlier in the day with the help of my mom. They were too cute and did a great job. The cookies were super yummy too!

Tempe Town Lake Boat Parade

December 12, 2009

We took our first trip to the boat parade last year. I think it was the tenth birthday celebration of the parade. The boys really had fun watching the different boats go by and seeing how each boat was decorated differently. They came right up next to where we were sitting and we shouted Merry Christmas to each of the boats. One man was even brave enought to try and kayak the route. We're glad we went and that we got to go with Heather and Kristi and the rest of the Johnson's. We're definitely going to try to make the parade again this year.
