Aaron has had a stack of his mission pictures hanging around the house for quite a while. I decided I can no longer wait for him to get them into the scrapbook that he started three years ago and have taken matters into my own hands. :) I started scanning them about two weeks ago and I'm almost up to 300 pictures with a 1" stack left to go. After they're all scanned in we're going to create a nice and tidy mission book on Shutterfy (love them) that will look great on our bookshelf. Yay! Here are some of my favorites:

Snow in September! I don't think this Arizona boy was quite prepared!

The snow started falling but the heater didn't get the message. They had to wait for two days before it turned on. BRRR!

As a mom all I can see is: accident waiting to happen.

Proof that he knows how to clean! J/K Aaron helps whenever he can. Thanks honey!

That's one hard-working missionary! I hope our boys will follow in Aaron's footsteps.

I bet those were fun to look through. I know for us it feels and seems like ages ago. What a great idea...and then to follow through and get it done...WAY TO GO!!!
I love shutterfly...my problem is I make the book and have a hard time committing to the cost (because I make the big and long books). I always say next month I'll work it into the budget. And I know it's way cheaper than if I scrapbooked that many photos!
PS-I love the pj's and where did Aaron serve...or does it say (I'm not always the brightest)?
A little tidbit about photo books. I recently found a site called blurb.com that offers a steal of a deal on photo books, especially if they are really long. You can make an 8x10 hardback album with over 400 pages! for only $80. Obviously, smaller books are cheaper, but they seem to be the best deal that I have seen so far. Anyway, way to go on your project! Do you like your scanner, we need to get one and would love any advice anyone has on a good one. Okay, enough about that. Love the pics!
Steph--love the pictures (and I didn't have any trouble leaving this comment). The Shutterfly book is such a great idea. I think I'm going to stop doing regular photo albums and just make a Shutterfly (or other brand) book at the end of each year for our family.
Meredith--we have an HP Officejet 7310 All-in-One and we like it.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that Aaron served in Russia. The pajamas, who knows where those came from? He had this one pair when we got married that his younger brother made for him in home ec. The fabric looked like it came from Africa. They were quickly replaced!
Meredith- I have heard of blurb, just haven't looked into it yet. Great to know, thanks! Also, we just got a new all-in-one laser printer after Thanksgiving, it's a Cannon ImageClass MF4150. I really like it so far. Our old scanner is sitting right next to me if you'd like to give it a try, let me know.
Cute pics. Still looks like Aaron, he hasn't changed much!
I just got my book from blurb (I think I told you that at the park)-I LOVE it!! It's not as nice and as many cutesy options as shutteryfly, but very easy to use and cheap, like Meredith said. But I think it's 400 pictures, not pages. At least that's what I found. Mine was 56 pages and it came to just over $45 with shipping. Much cheaper than shutterfly.
I am looking into the frames around the pics for you...I'll get back to ya!
Who's that youngin' in those pics?:) Russia?...BRRRRRRR! No thanks for this AZ girl!:P Good example for the boys for sure. Kuddos to you for making the book.
I can not believe you have scanned all those pictures! Good work. It will be so good for your boys to see them in a book.
