Aaron and I got the chance to have a super fun anniversary trip thanks to my great sisters, who watched our kiddos while we were gone.
I flew over to Los Angeles Thursday night and Aaron picked me up in his rental Suburban (he was already in California for work). I told him there was no way I was driving all over California in a Suburban so we drove to the rental car place and traded it in for a Jeep Patriot. It was really nice, but smelled really bad. We got a GPS as we exited the rental place and fell in love with it over the course of the weekend. That night when we got to his apartment we decided we would go to Disneyland the next day. When we got to Disneyland we decided one day just wouldn't be enough and bought the 2-day Park Hopper. Disneyland was a blast, especially since we didn't have to convince our kids to go on all the really fun rides! Aaron did have to convince me to go on the Maliboomer and Tower of Terror. He's lucky I didn't get sick. Those rides are just a little too much for me!
This one is for Dallin. We stopped at the Lego store in Downtown Disney and they had some really great figures built that we thought he'd like.
Sunday after church we went down to Santa Monica Place (Aaron's mall) so I could see where he's been working for the last several months. We parked at his office and walked down 3rd Street Promenade to get to the mall. Some cosmetic store had a big booth set up in the middle of the street offering makeovers and had a couple poeple building sandcastles at their booth.
Here we are at Santa Monica Place with our lovely hard hats. This is the entrance from 3rd Street Promenade. Kitson is the store on the left and Nike is on the right.
This is the center court of the mall. The tall beam in the middle will light up at night, drawing people in from 3rd Street.
The dining deck is on the third floor. It has a great view overlooking the ocean and Santa Monica pier. Unfortunately, a hotel is going to be built right in front of the mall blocking some of the view.
This view is from the dining deck looking out onto 3rd Street Promenade.
I am truly grateful for Aaron's job but it has been hard having him away from us so much. We'll be glad when this project is over and he gets reassigned to some different malls.

I can't wait to see the mall when it is finished!
That's the mall we saw! I LOVE Kitsons, there's an outlet ort Kitson Discount store just down the way, probably behind where you're standing. I found some good stuff... but my kids make it so hard to shop!!! I could ave spent a good hour there. Glad you got to visit and Aaron and I'm glad he's soooo close to being done!!
