Snips and Snails

I feel guilty when Aaron's outside on Saturdays working in the middle of the heat. So when he went out front to mow the lawn, the boys and I followed. It was the only way I knew how to show my support without actually mowing the lawn myself. While I was melting on the porch, Parker was exploring under the rocks and aloe vera plants near our front windows. He found a tiny baby snail and brought it over for Dallin and I to look at. It was so tiny and cute, I have to admit. Then he went back and found a whole family of snails. They weren't as cute.

Parker loved looking at the snail from all different angles. At first I didn't think the snail was actually alive, but it came out after a little while.

The Snail Family

As the snails started to come out of their shells, they started moving toward the edge of the bricks. Parker was worried about them falling and put his hands out to catch his little friends. He has a sensitive side, but he's definitely all boy.

Ewwwwww! Not a fan of those guys. How sad though, they are probably dying of heat too!

That is a cute smile! Yeah, I've seen some of those little dudes and they kind of gross me out. I have turned into a mega wimp when it comes to bugs or creepy crawly things...but if the kids get a kick out of it...then it's okay! :)
